I Need You Say No  -  Post 1
START
This project hasn't started like the others; It fell into my lap by chance. A BIMM London performance student contacted me after being told by a mutual friend that I could help his project come to life. I received a 220MB Logic X file via internet transfer and a pass to make whatever edits I choose.
I'v looked at the project... It's a mess. Makers and arrangement are out of sync, tracks aren't named properly, and probably most important of all... the production's pretty awful. Granted, it was made by a performance student who could only just about grasp garageband... but... it's too late for some of the content. I knew straight away I would be rerecording 90% of the music and would be doing some serious edits on the stems that I decided to keep.
This track is however, a very very cool track. Compositionally; It has alot of potential and most importantly (to me)... it's a completely new genre and style! I've never made/produced music like this before. It carries a pop rhythm with the electronic vibe of Two Door Cinema Club meets The XX... as my first impressions anyway.
I know that if I can get it to sound good I will have a very strong piece of work that falls well within my concept.

Below is the track as I received it. I bounced it out of logic after moving a few faders around but it's pretty much exactly how my blank canvas looks.
