START

This track is a spontaneous, random and completely open production. The foundation of the track was laid out at 3am... after a night out. I stumbled into my room, saw I'd left my keyboard on from earlier in the day and started playing Dave Brubecks "Take 5"; a jazz piece I love and play alot. I was playing the chords (in 5/4) when I started to slip, and went into 4/4 with a different kind of rhythm. Funky vibes. I tracked down a piano line, laid down a sine wave sub bass line and an initial drum idea (all through MIDI on Logic X)... before I fell asleep on the keyboard.

I woke up, had a listen, and was surprised to find I actually quite like this. Normally, "under the influence" productions sound way better while you're making them... but nope, I still like this. Needs alot of work though.
